Episode 141: Are You Already An Expert Right Now?
Is there someone in your life – a person, a group, or an organization – that you are actively contributing to regarding your professional life?
Do you help any companies that are behind where you are right now? You’ve accomplished more than you give yourself credit for. You can help the people around you.
Teaching & Contribution: these are 2 things that I think are really powerful.
I know I’m guilty of this…looking further ahead and trying to level up all the time. Sometimes, the best way to level up is to teach, mentor, or coach someone who is behind where you are.
Everyone listening to this is an expert. You may not feel like it, but that’s how everyone feels all the time.
The fact is, if you’ve been in business for 2 days, there’s someone else who’s been in business for 1 day.
Pull someone under your wing. There’s a magical thing that happens when you focus on contribution – giving back to the world, community, competitors, etc.
I use to call competitors and try to get to know them and network. Some declined, but I tried to help them anyway. I was an open book. I have the mindset of abundance. I believe there’s enough for everybody. The market is too deep, too big. One of the best ways to learn is to teach!

Great stuff. I’m going to do this. I recently signed up as a mentor for a veterans platform, but I never thought of putting a video out there to just share tips and tricks for people in any type of business and to let them know they can ask me questions. Many people know I’ve been in business for a long time. It would be fun to be able to help someone who is just starting out even if it’s a totally different type of business.
